Don't let your religious beliefs kill you!

Hey everyone, so here I am back with my another blog on a very sensitive issue, So before i begin let me explain my motive behind writing on this topic,so i recently read about the stampede that happened in Mahakumbh at Prayagraj, and not only this we have witnessed numerous cases in the past where we have seen people losing their lives due to stampede occurred in religious places. Like in Badrinath, Kedarnath, Jagannath temple, Tirupati Balaji and many others.

So after seeing all this I believe that it's good to have full faith in your religion and visit different pilgrimage places but it is also necessary to know and understand that your safety should have the utmost importance. I believe in the well known quote said by a great philosopher years ago and that is health is wealth. So if you are healthy enough you can travel not only in India but the whole world. So first be concerned about your health and wellness rather than taking steps in trust of God. And to add more i will first like to share my personal experience that I had experienced a month ago.

Crowd during jagannath Puri,Rath Yatra.

So currently i am in Odisha and as you know what odisha is mainly famous for, obviously the famous Jagannath temple. So I also went to visit the Jagannath temple with my friends and we reached it at exactly 9:45 am . And to our astonishment there was a massive crowd of people in the lines waiting for their turn to offer their prayers to lord Jagannath. Okay so what happens there is to manage the crowds. Police officers open the gate for some people and then they close it and the same things repeat continuously everyday. And when you go inside the temple, the amount of crowd inside the temple is so huge that offering prayer to lord Jagannath is a distant thing you won't be even able to see his idol and I am not claustrophobic but still I wasn't able to breathe properly and all i wanted was, to get out of that place. People were pushing each other, one even pulled a strand of my hair unintentionally. And on that particular day,I understood why and how stampedes happen.

Crowd at a religious place to offer prayers at a pilgrim place.

I, being a young girl, faced these problems but somehow I was able to come out. But just think about old age people and newborns. Those are the ones who are vulnerable and mainly these are the people who die in the stampede. And not only that I saw people who even lied down on the ground,to offer the prayers even in that massive crowd. So that's how religious people are in India, and these come from different parts of India.

So my suggestion to all religious people is that it's good to have faith in God but it's also necessary to know what is good for you and what can harm you . And trust me I am not an atheist but I am trying to convey what I have observed so far from my experience and the incidents that have happened in the past years. so to avoid haphazard you should plan your visit to any pilgrimage places at a convenient time when there is not much crowd, also avoid laying down to offer prayers and also don't push and pull people, also stand firmly so that if anyone pushes you, make sure you do not fall off. So what are your thoughts on this ? Please let me know in the comments below.
